Screen Works

I started to work on option 1, just writing a little bash display script, changing it to executable (chmod +x startup.bsh), and moving it into my bin directory (mv /root/startup.bsh bin). Nothing terribly ambitious from a programming point of view, but it works. In the process of working on this, I got the screen to work in GUI mode (still has bombs on it though) by changing the grub boot loader configuration file in YasT to pass the same monitor setting to the kernel as it does in failsafe mode. that is changing the setting from vga=0x314 to vga=normal). The gui is slow, but its nice that it works!

Pseudocode
#!/bin/bsh
echo ” ”
echo “Today is a brand new day. How would you like to start?”
several more echos
echo “1. Walk dogs.”
several more echos
