Fishing and the Rivers

I’m not sure that I really set everything up right. I used a lure that had a little rubber fish on the end, so I would only catch fish that eat other fish. Several fish-catching birds would appear each time I cast the line in. A beautiful blue heron appeared, standing so close, that I was quite moved. Spin let me know. As I dropped my fishing rod, exchanging it for my camera, the bird moved out over to the island, as if teaching me “this is where the fish are, come join me.” I wasn’t so hungry, I was willing to wade though! In the end, I did not catch anything, probably largely because I was having problems casting. I’m not really comfortable with the rod, or confident that I wouldn’t hurt a fish too much during the process of trying to bring the fish in. It takes some skill.
