Hyper-tense 1.2, Stretching, Spring Cleaning

I spent 16 minutes doing some stretching exercises on the floor in front of the TV yesterday.  I was amazed at: 1) how tense I was, 2) how much better I felt to get some circulation flowing in the tense areas.

I also spent some time writing.  Still waiting for the lyme results from the vet.  I think that what happened, is that he got a booster shot for parvo, and this depressed his immune system to the point that he had another lyme outbreak.  Because his kidney function is poor, he probably has lyme-related nephritis.  I brought him and Spin in with me today to the library.  It was hot for them, but they enjoyed the exercise and being with me.

We had a short Spanish lesson on the way in:

Cedrillo:  Hello, how are you?

Me:  Bueno. ¿Como estas? O pardoneme.  ¿Como esta Usted.?

Cedrillo (laughing): Como estas.

Me: Es un bueno día. Un poco caliente, pero no hay humedad en el aire

Cedrillo: It´s hot.

Me: Los alergias son malos.

Cedrillo: El heno.

Me: ¡Manten te fresco!

Time for the ritual Passover cleaning and lawn mowing.  Since, I have company coming from France, the dogs will not get as much attention over the holidays, so I was happy to take them in to town with me for exercise.  I want to get my program running in French so I´ve downloaded Edith Piaf as music.  Talking to my friend on the phone, in her area, they have a lot of lyme-related nephritis (East Coast).  Apparently, Pfizer has released a lyme vaccine that they backup with a lifetime guarantee to pay for lyme treatment if the animal gets it.  The vaccine also works on dogs that already have lyme.  Spin does not appear to have any symptoms.  I wonder though about the effect of lyme antibodies.  In any event, I want to read more.

I´m posting the latest version of hyper-tense 1.2 and one verb file ¨01 tener.txt¨ (should be stored in a testverbs directory on the flash drive you use to load the program).  The program only selects lines that begin with 23c: or 02c: etc. from the text files, and it does handle more than one text file.  The c means corrected.  It plays songs from a spanish itunes directory randomly as a reward for getting the tense right, and outputs quotes both written, and oral from Gabriel García Márquez and Cervantes.  The oral quotes are written out by hand and read into movie scripts that are stored in the itunes directory as a subdirectory that one names “spanish highlit”, and the individual files are called tener01.avi tener12.avi tener81.avi according to the line in the verb file that they correspond to.  I like the way the program runs.
