The Other Long House

A trip down to St. Mary’s, the place where the first colony was established in Maryland.  I took the pups out for a bit in St. Mary’s Wilderness, but it was a hunting day, there was no trail map, and I decided pretty quickly to turn around and go to see the archeological site across from the college in the city.dogs and a frameIt was a nice but rather foggy walk through the park, where I saw the other reconstructed long house frame and also a wigwam in Maryland

at the native american site.  There was a reconstructed church with an explanation of the religious forces at the time,

and also information about slavery during colonization.
