Up in Moore, OK, looking at the little of what’s left.
The structure above (the bathroom) was where the family below hid with the dogs they could gather before the tornado struck. Her dogs are now at a shelter and vet, while they stay with family. They estimate that it will take about 2 years to rebuild everything. Small remnants of their lives still in the debris. They have a couple of days yet before the bulldozers come to clear everything.
As they recounted their story, I let the woman pet my dogs – she missed the daily interaction with animals.
